The OutBlack Range

OutBlack linings are produced on two high quality fabric constructions, each in "2 Pass" and "3 Pass" versions. A bonded-interlined option is also available.

The number of "Passes" relates to the number of UV protective and insulating coats applied to the base fabric. 2 and 3 Pass linings give the same blackout performance, but the 3 Pass sandwiches the essential black coat, giving a solid pale colour to both sides of the lining.

OutBlack Original and OutBlack Explorer are available in 2 Pass White or Ivory and 3 Pass White or Ivory.

OutBlack Original
The original lining, based on 100% cotton, gives the ultimate in drape and soft hand and is still the very best available. Suitable for all curtain lining applications.

OutBlack Explorer
This more recent development offers the performance and value of a 50/50 polycotton base.

OutBlack Fleece
A bonded-interlined version of OutBlack Explorer, this lining offers the curtain maker convenience and value, whilst enhancing the resulting curtains' body and luxury feel. The fleece further improves OutBlack's thermal and acoustic insulation properties, making it the best lining for bedrooms.

UV Protection
Australians were the first to give clothing textiles a sun protection factor. This technology has now been applied to curtain lining textiles. A normal cotton sateen lining helps to block some UVA and UVB, giving a typical Sun Protection Factor 4* - Outblack's sunblock performance exceeds Factor 4000*.

Light Exclusion
OutBlack linings allow you to control light levels throughout the home, sleep better and enjoy complete privacy.

Thermal Insulation
